Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information HostingTweaks (“we,” “us”) collects when you use our site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible and to be straight with you about it.

Who we are

HostingTweaks is operated by AFFiNCO (affinco.com). For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@affinco.com. Our registered company details are available on request.

What we collect

  • Information you give us. If you create an account, save hosting details, subscribe to emails, submit a review, or contact us, we collect what you provide (e.g. email address, the hosting details you enter, your message).
  • Usage and device data. We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) — pages viewed, approximate country (from your IP), and device/browser type — to understand and improve the product. We do not build cross-site advertising profiles.
  • Cookies and local storage. We use a small number of cookies / local-storage entries for essential functions only — remembering your currency, language, theme, login session, and (if you opt in) your on-device personalization preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
  • Affiliate click data. When you use our outbound “go” links, we record the click (and may pass a sub-id to the provider's affiliate network) so we can measure performance. This is tied to the link, not to your identity unless you're logged in.

Why we use it

To provide and improve the service; to power features you ask for (savings optimizer, watches/alerts, reviews); to send emails you opt into (and only those); to measure traffic and affiliate performance; to keep the site secure and prevent abuse; and to comply with the law.

Email

We only send marketing email (deal alerts, digests) if you opt in, and every such email has a one-click unsubscribe. Account/transactional messages (e.g. a renewal reminder you set up) are sent as part of the service. Manage preferences any time from your account or the unsubscribe link.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers who run parts of our infrastructure on our behalf, under appropriate terms — currently Cloudflare (edge hosting, database, storage, analytics), Supabase (accounts & authentication), and Resend (email delivery).
  • Affiliate networks (e.g. Impact, CJ, ShareASale, Awin, or providers' direct programs), which receive click/conversion signals (typically a sub-id), not your account profile.
  • Authorities, where required by law.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact privacy@affinco.com. You can also unsubscribe from email at any time and control cookies via your browser and our consent tool.

Data retention & security

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or anonymise it. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, secret management) to protect it, though no method is perfectly secure.

International transfers

We may process data in countries other than yours (our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare's global edge and Supabase). Where we do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

HostingTweaks isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted.
